- Notas: Según el autor de la canción, Brian Wilson, la canción se inspira en sus recuerdos de la infancia, época en la que su madre le hablaba de las “vibraciones” en tanto que fuerzas positivas o negativas que la gente desprendía. Según ella los perros y otros animales percibían dichas vibraciones y por eso a veces ladraban a unos individuos desconocidos, mientras que se sentían instintivamente cómodos con otros.
El cantante aplicó esa teoría de las vibraciones, y la usa para hablar de una mujer por la que siente una atracción especial en parte porque le transmite esas vibraciones positivas.
- 1. “…pickin' up…” = El phrasal “to pick up” se usa para hablar de recoger algo del suelo, o de ir a recoger a alguien al aeropuerto o a la salida del colegio. Aquí lo que se recoge son esas vibraciones positivas que la otra persona emite.
- 2. “…elation…” = Es una especie de euforia, júbilo, o felicidad extrema que le causa la mujer protagonista de la canción.
