- Notas: Esta canción tiene una historia curiosa. El autor reconoce que se inspiró en “If it makes you happy” de Sheryl Crow, y si escuchamos ambas vemos que guardan cierto parecido. Sobre la letra, se basa en un hecho real que se retrotrae a su época de estudiante de bachillerato, cuando intentó convencer a una chica de que saliera con su hermanastro. - Notas: La canción trata sobre el mundo de las adicciones, sean drogas o alcohol. El “scar tissue” del título hace referencia a esas cicatrices o marcas que dejan el consumo de estas sustancias y que son imposibles de esconder. En los momentos de claridad entre episodios de adicción, el adicto siente esa soledad de la que se habla en el estribillo, ese momento de enfrentarse en solitario a la realidad de la adicción de la que se es prisionero.
