- Notas: Es una canción basada en hechos reales, en la vida de la cantante, que estuvo casada con un hombre con el que tuvo varios hijos, pero cuya relación se acabó justo poco antes de que la cantante saltara a la fama. En esta canción la cantante habla de dicha relación fallida, y de cómo tiene que ser fuerte para dejar los recuerdos atrás por mucho que lo eche de menos, y evitar que estos recuerdos le ahoguen.
- 1. “…fate…” = Es el destino, lo que el destino nos aguarda, nos guste o no.
- 2. “…play it off…” = “Play off” se usa para hablar de desempatar, que en cierto modo es lo que la cantante pretende, romper esa situación de equilibrio que le hace tan difícil tomar la decisión correcta y separarse de los recuerdos que le unen a él.
- 3. “…keep my cool…” = Es una forma coloquial de indicar el mantener la calma en una situación difícil que nos pone nerviosos.
- 4. “…fiendin…” = Es una forma slang de indicar “desear algo con muchas ganas”, y es lo que le pasa a la cantante al pensar en su antigua pareja, que desea volver a tenerlo cerca, aun sabiendo que no es posible.
- 5. “…stumble…” = Este verbo significa “tropezar” o “andar a trompicones”, y es lo que le pasa a la cantante cuando intenta ponerse en pie y seguir adelante dejando sus recuerdos atrás.
