Pronunciación: /dɪˈpɑːtmənt hɛd/
El modo coloquial de referirse al jefe es el de “boss”, aunque el “final boss” no es tu ultimo jefe, sino el monstruo final que había que derrotar en los antiguos videojuegos (“video games”) de plataformas (“platforms”).
Como usar lo de “boss” en un email quedaría poco profesional, hay que echar mano de otros términos como son “manager”, especialmente si trabajamos en un supermercado, bar o restaurante y un cliente (“customer”) insiste en ver al encargado.
En ambientes empresariales lo suyo es usar “director” o “head of department” si nos queremos referir a los jefes intermedios que son responsables de un departamento (“department”) como el de ventas, recursos humanos, etc.
Estos “heads” se llaman así porque están al frente (“to head”) de su departamento, y por ello tienen que monitorizar (“to monitor”) las tareas de su personal (“staff”).
Ejemplo de uso: “The new department head is a pain in the ass.” (“El nuevo jefe de departamento es un grano en el culo.”)

Es por tanto una aceptación de uno mismo sin preocuparse por la apariencia real, ya que el protagonista de la canción está satisfecho consigo mismo, y se considera atractivo.
- 1. “…pimp…” = Si bien es un término usado principalmente para referirse a los proxenetas y a sus actividades, en la canción se está usando como verbo phrasal que indica el arreglarse para vestir de modo llamativo.
- 2. “…glow…” = Esto es el brillo o resplandor que el protagonista de la canción imagina tener y que hace que todo el mundo quede deslumbrado al verlo.
