- Notas: La canción se compuso como tributo a las películas de James Bond, por las que el autor sentía una auténtica devoción. De hecho, el titulo es un guiño a la película Goldfinder de la saga de 007. En cuanto al tema, no hay una interpretación clara. Para algunos el protagonista es alguien que se reencuentra a si mismo y que por fin descubre la gran fuerza que tiene en su interior si pasa a confiar en si mismo. Según esta interpretación se trataría de una canción motivacional. Otras fuentes hablan de un reencuentro entre dos personas que se conocieron durante la juventud, juventud que ha quedado atrás. En esta segunda interpretación el protagonista estaría enamorado de esa segunda persona, pero en el reencuentro descubre que esa persona ya tiene algo con otra, por lo que reconoce que ha perdido sus opciones y por eso vive en una prisión interior de la que no puede escapar.
- 1. “…salad days…” = Esta es una de esas expresiones acuñadas o popularizadas por Shakespeare. Se usa para referirse al tiempo de juventud en el que uno vive despreocupado y feliz.
