- Notas: El tema de la canción se condensa en el texto recitado por un niño al principio de la canción: Hay que construir un mundo mejor para las generaciones futuras. A lo largo de la canción el cantante indica que el amor tiene el poder de curar cualquier tipo de herida, es algo que está dentro de cada uno y si se le deja actuar puede hacer el mundo pase a ser un lugar mejor en el que vivir.
- 1. “…sorrow…” = Se usa para hablar de las penas profundas que atormentan a una persona.
- 2. “…dread…” = Los “dread” son los terrores que vive una persona.
- 3. “…strangling…” = “To strangler” es “estrangular”, que aquí se usa de forma metafórica para indicar el limitar la vida hasta que esta se convierte en algo muerto.
- 4. “…plowshares…” = Las “plowshares” son las podaderas que se usan en jardinería. Este verso se copia de la Biblia, en el que se habla de “con las lanzas hacer podaderas” como imagen de hacer que se dejen las armas y se pase a cultivar la tierra en paz.
