- Notas: 

La canción es curiosa, porque narra la historia de un cantante que ve que su historia de amor no va a funcionar por mucho que se empeñe, porque “nada dura para siempre, y el amor no es una excepción a dicha regla” (“If what they say is "Nothing is forever" … what makes love the exception…”). La canción es pues, triste, de lamento, pero el cantante ve que al público que escucha la canción le da igual su historia y no prestan atención a la letra (“Y'all don't wanna hear me, you just wanna dance”) por lo que el cantante se rinde y en lugar de aguarles la fiesta les da lo que quieren.

- 1. “…mess around…” = Este phrasal verb se usa mucho para hablar de tontear o perder el tiempo sin hacer nada útil.

- 2. “…cooler than bein' cool…” = Es un juego de palabras, “cool” es el equivalente a “guay” español, aunque no es tan arcaico. Se usa para indicar ser impresionante o agradable, aunque también signifique frío o distante. El cantante indica que es más frío que el frío, por eso se le llama “Ice” como apodo, porque no demuestra sus sentimientos.
- 3. “…sugar…” = El “sugar” es también el cariño o afecto (incluso sexual) que una persona puede dar. Se usa mucho referido a bailes que implican mover el cuerpo de modo sensual. Aquí se habla de agitar el cuerpo como si se estuviera agitando una fotografía instantánea para que salga la imagen.
