- Notas: Tina Turner compuso esta canción especialmente para la película “Mad Max 2: Más allá de la cúpula del trueno” (el título original es “Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome”). La película se sitúa en un futuro postapocaliptico brutalizado donde se lucha por la supervivencia en medio de condiciones de vida difíciles, y rodeado de violencia tras la descomposición de la sociedad. Desde esta perspectiva se interpreta fácilmente la canción, que se centra en los niños que nacieron tras el conflicto y que tienen su esperanza puesta en una vida más allá del “thunder-dome” (“cúpula del trueno”) que se usa para referirse al cielo tormentoso bajo el que se vive y en el que no se vislumbra ninguna esperanza real. El “hero” al que se hace referencia sería alguien que luchara por ese mundo mejor, pero al que se rechaza porque en el fondo se volvería a la situación de lucha que llevó a la destrucción que se vive.

- 1. “…wreckage…” = “Wreckage” se usa para hablar de algo que ha quedado en ruínas o destrozado hasta el punto de quedar inservible, como cuando le prestas el coche a tu hijo y le mete tal golpe que acaba en el chatarrero.
- 2. “…gotta - gonna…” = En ingles coloquial, y en muchas canciones, es frecuente ver estas dos contracciones. “Gotta” reemplaza a “got to” y “gonna” a “going to”.
