- Notas: El tema de la canción es sencillo: La cantante está hasta el cimborrio de la gente que la critica por todo lo que hace o por el tipo de persona que es y su respuesta es quitarse estos comentarios de encima (“to shake it off”) como quien se quita una hormiga que le sube por la manga de la camisa, sin darle más importancia.

- 1. “…cruisin'…” = “To cruise” se usa para indicar movimiento constante manteniendo una velocidad muy regular. La cantante lo usa para indicar que no piensa parar por lo que diga la gente.

- 2. “…haters…” = Gracias a las redes sociales se han inventado palabras como “follower” para los que te siguen en las redes, “liker” para los que te dan likes en dichas redes, y finalmente “haters” para hablar de la gente que te pone comentarios negativos escribas lo que escribas. Se usa para gente amargada que busca amargarle el día a los demás.

- 3. “…fakers…” = Los “fakers” son gente que son falsos por naturaleza y que pretenden aparentar lo que no son.

- 4. “…miss a beat…” = Literalmente es “perder un latido del corazón” pero que se usa para indicar el que te dé un vuelco el corazón o que se te caiga el alma a los pies ante algo que ha sucedido o que te han dicho. En este caso la cantante quiere indicar que los comentarios negativos no consiguen desanimarla sino que sigue su vida sin hacerles caso.

- 5. “…groovin'…” = El verbo “to groove” pertenece al slang americano y se usa para indicar el tocar o bailar música pop y que sirve para indicar el estar feliz, contento y despreocupado.
- 6. “…hella…” = Otro coloquialismo, es la contracción de “hell of a” para indicar grandes cantidades.
