- Notas: Las canciones de este grupo suelen ser críticas con el mundo de la música, especialmente con aquellos que han tenido éxito en este mundo. En este caso la canción se sitúa en la perspectiva de una estrella del rock, que llegó a la cumbre con una sola canción y que se ha visto condenado a quedarse bloqueado en ese punto, por lo que solo es una sombra de lo que fue (“el rey del rock”) con una canción adolescente con una letra estúpida a la que se hace alusión con la obsesiva repetición de lo de “hot dog, jumping frong, Alburquerque”, que nos remite al mercado musical estadounidense. Este rey del rock es un madurito ya entrado en años que tiene que volver una y otra vez sobre el tema juvenil que le dio el éxito, y en el que ahora está fuera de lugar.
- 1. “…Suede…” = Es el tipo de tejido conocido como “ante”, del que se hacían zapatos.
- 2. “…pathos…” = Se traduciría por “patetismo”, y es el patetismo que el cantante inspira cuando canta para un público juvenil del que tan lejos está años después de haber triunfado en la música.
- 3. “…dandy…” = Este “dandi” es la figura de hombre refinado, bien vestido y que destaca por su elegancia y modales. Se usa para referirse al cantante protagonista de esta canción que en su época fue todo un dandi.
