- Notas: Amy Winehouse murió a los 27 años por un coma etílico. Todo comenzó cuando su pareja Blake la dejó varios años antes y empezó a recurrir al alcohol de modo habitual. Su manager un día la sacó de un bar e intentó convencerla de que fuese a un centro de desintoxicación (“rehabilitation clinic”) pero el padre de Amy (el “daddy” de la canción”) se negó a aceptar que su hija era alcohólica y ella no pasó de la primera sesión a la que acudió ese mismo día y en la que explicó al médico que bebía por la relación rota (“I'm gonna, I'm gonna lose my baby, so I always keep a bottle near”). Poco después Amy compondría esta canción que habla sobre ese día.

- 1. …I been black but when I come back, you'll know… = Habla de la época oscura de alcoholismo y drogas que vivió pero del que esperaba regresar y hacer callar a la gente que murmuraba sobre ella.

- 2. …ain't… – …gonna… = En niveles muy coloquiales del inglés es frecuente ver contracciones verbales que hacen más fácil su pronunciación, así pues, “ain’t” es “am not” y “gonna” es “going to”.

- 3. …Ray… - …Mr. Hathaway… = Ray Charles – Donny Hathaway. Son dos referencias a dos músicos celebres en el mundo del jazz y soul Americano cuya música sirvió de inspiración a Amy Winehouse

- 4. …I didn't get a lot in class but I know we don't come in a shot glass… = Con esto indica que Amy sabe de sobra que no fue una gran estudiante pero que sabe de sobras que la solución a los problemas no están el alcohol (“shot glass” o “vaso de chupito”).
