Paul McArney dijo que está canción inicialmente la compusieron como una canción para niños, lo que cuadra con el tipo de música y el tema, pero hay voces que dicen que el “yellow submarine” en el que se meten es el consumo de drogas, y otros dicen que el submarino es el autobús en el que los grupos suelen pasar horas y horas durante sus giras musicales.
- 1. “…sailed…” = Los barcos solían moverse por la acción del viento gracias a las velas (“sails”), y de hecho los marineros son “sailors”, porque gran parte de su trabajo era manejar las velas. No es raro pues que exista el verbo “to sail” que haya pasado a referirse a la acción de navegar indistintamente del tipo de barco en el que se vaya.
