- Notas: La canción básicamente habla sobre una típica noche en una discoteca en los años setenta. Es el principio de la noche y destaca una mujer (la “dancing queen”) que con su aspecto y forma de bailar es capaz de seducir a cualquier y que busca llamar la atención de quien podría ser el hombre de su vida o al menos el compañero de una noche de diversión.

- 1. “…jive …” = El “jive” es un tipo de danza con origen estadounidense allá por 1930.

- 2. “…digging…” = Si bien a primera vista uno podría pensar que aquí el verbo “to dig” tiene algo que ver con excavar o meterse dentro, realmente se usa con un significado propio del slang americano en el que significa “gustar”, y lo que parece gustarle es la “dancing queen” o reina de la pista de baile esa noche.

- 3. “…tambourine…” = Se traduce por “pandereta”, ese instrumento musical que es un arma de destrucción masiva en manos de las tunas universitarias.

- 4. “…teaser…” = Se usa el término “teaser” para la gente a la que le gusta provocar a otros, normalmente se trata de una provocación sexual para llamar la atención de otra persona.
- 5. “…turn 'em on…” = El phrasal verb “to turn on” se usa para hablar de enchufar la tele u otro aparato eléctrico, pero aplicado a persona significa “encenderle el deseo sexual”.
