- Notas: Si Paul McCartney fuera un pitufo sin duda sería el pitufo filósofo como demuestra en canciones como esta. “This one” (que traduciríamos por “este preciso momento”) es una reflexión sobre como por estar metidos en nuestras rutinas diarias obviamos el decir, hacer o encontrarle el momento adecuado a algo, lo vamos dejando para un momento mejor (“for a better moment”) y puede que en algún momento nos demos cuenta de que ya es demasiado tarde. Al parecer estaba pensando en John Lennon y en su muerte y como quedaron cosas por solucionar o decirse entre los componentes de los Beatles.

La conclusión de la canción es precisamente el título de esta “this one”, ya que se trata de no dejar para más adelante algo sino que hay que hacerlo en este preciso momento porque es el único que tenemos seguro.

- 1. “…to flow by…” = Como phrasal verb no aparece en los diccionarios, pero el sentido está claro, “to flow” se usa para indicar el fluir, o ese movimiento continuo, uniforme, suave, sin dificultades u obstáculos, y al añadirle “by” estamos indicando que ese flujo es hacia fuera o en alejamiento. Aquí lo que se quiere decir es que las oportunidades se nos escapan sin que nos demos cuenta.
- 2. “…the timing…” = El “timing” es la sincronización o la elección del tiempo que se hace para llevar a cabo algo. Se suele usar cuando dos personas van cada uno a su ritmo, a su aire, y resulta difícil coordinarse. En la canción significa precisamente eso, que nunca se encontraba el momento adecuado o que fuera conveniente para ambos, siempre parecía que a uno de los dos les fuera mal ese momento.
