JUEVES - LYRICS ("Something Happenned On The Way To Heaven - Phil Collins")

- Something Happenned On The Way To Heaven - Phil Collins

We had a life, we had a love
but you don't know what you've got 'til you lose it.
Well that was then and this is now
and I want you back.

How many times can I say I'm sorry?
(How many times?)
Yes, I'm sorry.

How can something so good go so bad?
How can something so right go so wrong?
Well, I don't know, I don't have all the answers
but I want you back.

How many times can I say I'm sorry?
(How many times?)
Well you know.

You can run, and you can hide
but I'm not leaving 'less you come with me.
We've had our problems but I'm on your side.
You're all I need, please believe in me.

(Oh yeah)

I only wanted someone to love
but something happened on the way to heaven.
It got a hold of me and wouldn't let go
and I want you back.

How many times can I say I'm sorry?
(How many times?)
Oh yes. I'm sorry (sorry)
Well you know.

You can run, and you can hide
but I'm not leaving 'less you come with me.
We've had our problems but I'm on your side.
You're all I need, please believe me.

You can run, and you can hide
but I'm not leaving 'til it's all over.
We had our problems but I'm on your side.
You're all I need, let me show you.

They say you can't take it with you when you go
and I believe it,
but taking what I've got or being here with you, you know I
I'd rather leave it.

We had a life, we had a love
but you don't know what you've got 'til you lose it.
Well that was then and this is now
and I want you back.

How many times can I say I'm sorry?
(How many times?)
Ooh, yes, I'm sorry (yes, I'm sorry)
Well you know.

You can run and you can hide
but I'm not leaving 'less you come with me.
We've had our problems but I'm on your side.
You're all I need, please believe me.

You can run and you can hide,
but I'm not leaving 'til it's all over.
We've had our problems but I'm on your side.
You're all I need, please believe in me.

- Notas: Si bien tiene los aires de ser una canción romántica que habla del final de una relación desde el punto de vista del cantante que se niega a aceptar que la cosa se haya acabado, si miramos la letra con atención vemos que se habla de una relación enfermiza donde él se niega a aceptar que la historia se ha acabado y promete seguir intentándolo en algo que cae en el acoso (literalmente le dice que "You can run and you can hide, but I'm not leaving 'til it's all over.", es decir, que por mucho que ella intente huir o esconderse, él va a seguir yendo detrás de ella).
- 1. “…got a hold…” = Es un giro para indicar el "agarrarse" como una garrapata, haciendo que sea difícil separarse. En este caso se hace referencia al sentimiento amoroso del protagonista de la canción, que se niega a abandonarle, aunque la historia se acabó.
- 2. “…it's all over…” = Si uno jugaba a las maquinas de marcianitos se acordará del "game over" que salía al final de la partida cuando a uno lo mataban. Cuando se dice algo como "it's over" se quiere decir que algo se ha acabado, sea una pelea, una relación o una discusión.
