- Notas: El tema de la canción se resume en: “déjame en paz, so plasta, que por mucho que insistas no voy a volver contigo”. De ahí que el “say what you want” del título va por lo de que por mucho que intente convencerla con todo tipo de argumentos, los sentimientos de la cantante hacia él ya no van a cambiar. Estuvo enamorada, pero el amor se acabó y ahora ya no hay vuelta atrás.

- 1. “…you're on the run …” = “To be on the run” es “darse a la fuga” o “esconderse” de la policía para que no te atrape. En el contexto de la canción es intentar evitar afrontar la realidad, es decir, que ya no hay nada entre ellos.

- 2. “…took the tables away…” = Significa lo mismo, pero se usa mas el “to turn the tables” para hablar de que la cosa haya cambiado y ahora la situación sea justo la inversa. Es lo que traduciríamos por “darle la vuelta a la tortilla”.
- 3. “…sleep tight…” = Aunque parezca que se esté diciendo “duerme apretado”, no tiene nada que ver con ponerse un pijama de cuero ajustado, sino que es un formulismo familiar para indicar el “duerme bien” o el “que descanses” de toda la vida que usamos en español.
